When it works, it does great. But for a number of years now, I've had persistent problems on MacOS ... using multiple computers. (a) State software not installing ... every year for 3-4 years now I've had to call service and have them email me a package that I could install by hand. (b) Most recently, it got stuck in a loop where was unable to install an upgrade: it claimed to install, but then immediately claimed there was a new upgrade I needed to install. Over and over, even after rebooting the computer. In the end, I had to go to the web site and download the upgrade and install it by hand.
Overall I like the product. Every year I think that surely it will be improved in the next year -- since I used to have no problems like this. But I keep hitting the same issues. At some point, I'll bite the bullet and look for an alternative.

It gets worse instead of better each year

What should be simple is not. there should be an active link at anytime in the process to save or print the file you are at. Printing the state return is not simple. The program defaults to the Federal most of the time, Saving the state return is not simple. You must be at a certain point in the procedure of filing before you can save the state return and if you aren't careful you will overwrite a good file.

everything was working fine until 3/27/26 when another update was due. when I opened the program there was an error message that would not allow the update. I tried all the fix suggestions I could find and it is still not updating, It is preventing me from filing until this update is loaded. I cannot find any human support to contact for this issue
