Arithmetic error in program caused me to amend Federal return and resubmit. A late update corrected the mistake but I had already filed with IRS. The program did not properly calculate state and local income tax adjustment for the NIIT.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Many Bumps in the Road This Year

I have been a TaxCut/H&R Block Deluxe customer for many years. I have done multiple Federal and State returns each year for family members and myself. For the first time, my confidence is shaken. There were so many issues, the most major being the overwriting of entered numbers in various sections including the interest and retirement sections. I was constantly double and triple checking the numbers. Additionally I found instructions for certain sections difficult to comprehend. This happened when reporting K-1s and trust information. Another concern were the number of updates that occurred. I would install an update and already another one would be pending. Still another comment--I could not import any of my source files. This happened for W-2s as well as for investment information. Unfortunately I have to think long and hard as to whether this will be my tax program when I embark on my 2026 taxes. Note this was not operator error...again I have been using the program for well over 10 years.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
