I was not able to electronically file a deceased tax payer's individual return. Very pathetic. Next tax season, I will be buying some other software to electronically file my taxes.
Cons: Time consuming

I have used this software for a couple years. I like that it allows me to better understand so many things about the tax process. I still struggle to understand my State (MN) questions but I do appreciate the M1PR Homestead Credit form preparation.

Works but fails at what you expect software to do

The interview leads you through the forms. But it fails at the key benefit of software - to fill the forms correctly. Having to fill in information that was not asked about and guided through in the initial process is annoying. Add to that and the idiotic nonstandard IRS accounting conventions that equate to requesting you file you return in iambic pentameter and the process is annoying, confusing as you have to untable the mess it made in sub forms and in the end still find out the forms were filled out wrong. Want fun? See how this handles the simple case of one stock sale and accounting for that jump in capital gains in life December of the tax year.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The packaging says it contains software for Federal and STATE tax returns, but it didn’t mention that there’s an additional charge to file State Return electronically!
