I have been using this tax software for years. It is easy to use and less expensive than Turbo tax. I filed both federal and state taxes online in early February, both refunds were in my checking account 1 week later. I wish the it’s Deductible portion was available all year, as a separate entity vs imbedded in the year end tax software. Since I make multiple non-cash donations during the year, I can not wait until tax time to add values to the donations.

Calculation of CT state income tax is incorrect. Used state website for proper calculation. Second year in a row. Too much trouble to get in touch with you to resolve problem. It relates to deduction for social security.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

I have used this software for years (since it was TaxCut) with great success. Take standard deduction since retirement. Always got fast refund. Filed 2/1/2026. This year nothing changed wrt inputs, (100% same few documents as last year) but IRS asked to verify my identity (first time ever), which I did, but still has not approved refund.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've used H&R Block software for many years. Easy to use and I like that copies from the prior year so it makes input much easier. My Federal and State returns were accepted on the first submission and I got my Federal refund in less than 2 weeks. With all the tax changes due to the One Beautiful Bill, the software worked great.
