We have used this product since 2016 and have been very happy with it, to the point of recommending it to others. This year it was a different story. We had trouble discerning what to do with a 1099-B where the cost basis was not reported. Contacted your help and received no help. Even tried the software phone number but got caught up in a robotic circle. Experience was frustrating, to say the least.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The interview format is easy to use and provides a thorough coverage of all required document. I have used H&R's tax programs for years. I have tried two other popular programs and fine H&R's superior.

The software itself worked well, as always. I was worried because I had downloaded it onto a computer which I later replaced. I downloaded it onto the new computer, still in the same location, and it installed and functioned with no problems.

H&R software is easy to use. However I do not agree with having to pay extra to e-file my state taxes when I have purchased the state software, since you can e-file five federal taxes for free.
