2025 H&R Block Deluxe + State

Everything was just as expected and great to work with ... EXCEPT that the software decided to group two asset sales together (their basis had been reported to the IRS and I had no adjustments), which meant the software did not report them on form 8949. Apparently that's fine. But since my 1099 form from the brokerage reporting those sales said that they SHOULD be reported on 8949, I had to figure out a workaround to do so. It took me about as long to do that as to do the whole return.
Pros: Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

Program would not update automatically. I had to manually download each time. It took several times and I had to delete and reinstall the entire program. Never had this issue before this year; quality has gone down.
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good enough. Program would sometimes would erase already entered information which was irritating. Also couldn't e-file state due to >$500 in non-cash charitable contributions. Lots of non-cash charitable contributions due to long overdue clean out of my attic, garage and storage unit. Donated a bunch to charity. But overall I've been using this same program for over 10 years and it works. However, might search next year for something better and more up to date and quicker. Was slow at times and I have a good computer (Mac) with lots of speed.
