Overall, good software. Arizona state software had a couple of problems. One is the lack of Form 348 in the package. Most Form 323 filers, including myself, require Form 348 in addition. I had to download the form from the state website and could therefore not file electronically. I also found an error in the software: the default max on Form 301 line 19A should be 766, rather than 728. I was unable to override the default entry.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've been using this tax software for several years now. I find it very easy to use. It walks me through everything and gives me a chance to go back and look at everything before submitting. I especially like the import feature. I can't always import everything, but when I can, it makes everything so much faster. I like that it can bring in last year's information, and I just change anything that is different this year.

Old time H&R tax software user

I am using H&R Block tax software every year since 1997 when I prepared my 1996 taxes [it was named Kiplinger tax software at those times]. I am comfortable with the software and familiar with its quirks. I heard many times that Intuit is better, but the only case when I tried the competitor, it was not better.
However, I encountered a few bugs in the 2025 tax year H&R Block software. Specifically:
1. Verification is not aware enough about Roth 401(k). It assumes that in the form 1099-R it should be Roth IRA, and that in the form W-2 it should be a traditional 401(k)
2. The software initially accepts an empty (all zeros) or random garbage in the form 221-, Schedule AI. To re-entry it after verification failure, user must delete first the schedule manually in the Forms tab.
I would recommend this to a friend!
