The state return would not file until the credit card went through. Your program efiled my federal return no problem but we spent a long time working with your agent to figure out how to get your program to accept my credit card.Apparently it had to do with the Norton antivirus software firewall, which we had to turn off in order to purchase the state efile.

I did not expect to have to file part of my Federal return on paper. It turns out that with this software bringing itemized deductions forward required mailing in paper forms because the software, at least in 2024, would not generate more than one non-cash contribution form, which has space for just four contributions. This seems like a pointless limitation and a hassle for generous customers.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have been using your software for years and have had good experiences. This year was a terrible experience. The import features were a disaster and 9/10 during any type of import the software would crash and I would send the report to Apple. These important failures w widespread among many document types. On top of that the simple calculation for health care subsidies was broken and I had to wait for weeks for it to be fixed to finally be able to electronically file. Overall an extremely frustrating experience and it’s still ongoing as I file multiple tax returns for the family. Probably my last year using the software.
Cons: Hard to import documents

Took me several times before the app would complete my submission. Still shows cancelled attempts on my bill pay.

The software ask for amount of RMD. However, I took the amount of my RMD out and received a 1099R in that amount. When I then answered the amount of RMD, the software added the income a second time and taxed it a second time.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

Was very disappointed with H&R Block's tax return software. I have a pretty straightforward return for married filing jointly, and had switched a few years ago from TurboTax after problems with their software to handle Roth conversions. We are retired, and this is first year of my Required Minimum Distributions (RMD). Even though my distributions were done on time and properly, H&R Block software created IRS 5329 forms for both me and my wife (and my wife isn't even the right age for RMD!!!). I had to do outside research to educate myself and delete these forms from my return. Also, the H&R Block software generated an IRS 5695 form for energy credit without explaining that my improvements did not qualify. Again, I had to do outside research to determine I should delete this form from my return. This kind of sloppy, error-prone return is not what I wanted, and I will be looking for a different product next year.
