As a former Tax Advisor with HRB, I have been using Deluxe software for many years. This year will be the last year! There were numerous problems with the software. After manually entering information from a tax document, zip codes would change, addresses would change, tax withholding would change, all with no changes by me. Additionally, it took three weeks and numerous phone calls to resolve a mistake with form 8606.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Purchased this (the macOS version) for several years in a row. Works reasonably well. Crashed a few times, and trying to update within the program fails miserably with the versions for the last few years. In an infinite loop of downloading and applying the same update over and over. Had to cancel that, find the hidden disk image for the update and run that explicitly.
Don't know why the program crashed a couple of times when first opened and importing previous year's return. But ran well after that.
Help/Guidance is fine for simple situations some others are just not covered. For example, foreign pensions. If you enter a pension since it is a foreign country it does not have a TIN and thus you can't file it. Many countries have tax agreements that since the income is taxed by the foreign entity there is no US tax. Having an internal list of those countries and having a separate section for foreign pensions would be a nice addition.
