Super Easy, especially having it done for a few years. It takes me less than 45 minutes to get my documents gathered, entered (most data comes automatically from my investment software ) double checked and completed

It works as it should, except you've got a seious problem in your Michigan software. You may be costing Michigan retirees thousands of dollars. You need to take this seriously. There's a page that asks what kind of retirement income (private, military or government). You don't insist on an answer to this question. Retirement income is supposed to be subtracted from federal AGI in Michigan. Incredibly, if you don't get an answer to the question above you do nothing! Luckily I answered by chance in 2024, so I knew something was wrong in 2025 and found it. But I had to file an amended return for 2023. Your approach to this is ridiculous. You need an answer to that question don't let users off that page till they answer. I want to see mass emails to Michigan users on this subject.

Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

I bought last year and decided to give it a try again. Long time Turbo Tax customer previously. Only thing I do not like is section on penalty - I really don't recall that with Turbo and I really do not like it in H&R Block. It said I owed a penalty and it was very difficult to go through - not intuitive and not user friendly and I don't think it's even right. Plus there are parts where you can't not change or write over - really don't like those at all - not sure who I will use next year

Cons: Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents

I've used this program for over ten years and have been very happy with it....until this year. I did my son's Uber taxes with a net income of $5500 and discovered that I couldn't efile it because of some glitch in the Premium tax credit program. Maybe glitch is the wrong word because the program advised me to paper file because of some problem in that part of the program. So I printed out the file and got 33 pages. Now I have to send it and wait at least 7 weeks for the refund. And of course, since I didn;t file my federal return electronically I had to also file the state file on paper. Ridiculous
