Meh - does the job, better with small improvements

Tiny light gray lettering on white background is not user friendly for this type of task.
Overall, it was fairly easy to use, but found it subpar to navigate between forms/questions, and the back button sometimes would seem to take me to somewhere other than the prior page.
Would like to see a graphic on the side showing where I am in the process. A few other simple nice-ities would improve my rating.
I will take a deeper look at their competitors for 2026, beyond the basic matrix of comparators.
Pros: Fast
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I kept having to refresh for it to work. I finally was able to get it finished and pushed thru. Now I've been trying to do my kids taxes and I keep getting an invalid file notice. It's very slow to load and tells me my internet is not working. Even though it is and I have done all the "tricks" it tells me too. I had the same problems last too and had been using this software for over 10 years. I'm not sure what is happening, but I'm not happy!
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've bought this product for several years, and it has performed as expected. This year it was frustrating because I had to wait three weeks until the system got an update that made it possible for e-filing. Other than that major annoyance, it was satisfactory. I recently moved to another state, and I hope the software can handle the 2026 tax year with filings in two different states. By the way, does anybody read these reviews?

I've been using H&R block's tax program for many years and am pretty sure I will switch to Turbo Tax for next year. The "explanations" provided by the program are pretty much useless. The program also struggles with more complex calculations like not taxing Treasury Bill interest on State returns. On the rare occasions I have called to get "expert" help, the people on the phone are clueless about tax code and their help is worthless. Not sure what I'm really getting for my money other than the supposed convenience of filing electronically. Turbo Tax here I come!
