I have been using h&r block tax software for almost 20 years. in recent years, I met with more glitches than in the past. It still does the job, but I wish it didn't have those glitches that I have to work around.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

Only problem I had was it didn’t add Form 8283 to my state taxes. This happened because I took the standard deduction on federal and itemized on state. So I had to manually create Form 8283 and mail in the state taxes.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents

Had a major problem when submitting my taxes. Overall the process was great, I do these for my 89 year old mother in law. She likes a physical check, at the last step it says that a physical check will delay the process, but that's OK for her. Then she gets a letter saying her taxes cannot be deposited because there is no bank account information on file. So now we have to do a "Real ID" with an older woman to get her $300... I wish it had said that they couldn't process it at all without bank account information instead of now having to go through multiple hoops to get her refund.

Great program. I just had to wait until Feb 27 to file because a form wasn’t ready. I’ve always filed shortly after January 30 when all tax income forms are due to recipients so I didn’t appreciate waiting. .
