I have been using H & R Block for years. I tried the other tax software and HRB is easier to use. I know I've used it for at least the last 11 years. I do have a bone to pick with this year's. Having turned 73 last year, I am required to start taking money out of my retirement annuity (which I don't understand anyway). I got a 1099-R to report this withdrawal and the deduction for income tax. My problem was how to put it on my return. It was very confusing, so I hope I did it right. I just want to say the instructions need to be better.
Pros: Easy to prepare

It’s ok but used to be feature packed. More basic

Features seems to be disappearing over the years. Still does the job but not as intuitive. The older versions had very nice comparison features for YOY. No more. Also, it is clunky when beginning a new tax year when everything from the prior is right where it should be. It no longer warns you that you are missing a 1099 you have entered several years in a row. It’s kinda a more basic, self service platform now.
Pros: Fast
Cons: Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
