Form 8962 override
on February 18, 2026
Posted by: Richard Se
from Monterey park, California
The 2025 H&RBlock prevents me from e-filing. My 12 column-C of my 1095-A are all zero, but this app populated it with a non-zero amount on form 8962. After I overrode it to be zero, this app disallowed to do an E-filing. I ended up with manually print it and send via mail. Please fix this bug.

Fed accepted but some errors
on February 18, 2026
Posted by: Wild thing
from Waxhaw. NC
Good News: The IRS accepted both tax returns within minutes of e-file submittal.
Bad News : I saw some errors which needed to be corrected.
1 Once on both returns filed the number for the gross income reported on an entered 1099R
changed when I ran through the 1040 to review the returns before filing. The number from a later entered 1099R
was incorrectly automatically entered.
2. The entry for a 1099-DIV shows two line 15s instead of one 15 and the next 16. This could be confusing when
entering the data.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

Fed was Fine, PA State had issues
on February 18, 2026
Posted by: Man from Mars
from Pittsburgh PA
I was able to enter all information and filed the Fed online, no problem. When I tried to file the PA state, there was a message I had to attach some state PDF documents, and I needed to add the provided software. I added the PDF software and saved my files as a pdf, but when I tried to attach the PDF files, the computer could not find the files. I ended up printing and mailing the state form.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

Mortgage Loan Interest Instuctions Need Attention
on February 18, 2026

from AL
Your instructions for Mortgage Interest entry need attention. At least where more than one 1098 is received from two finance companies for the same mortgage. You need to explain how to calculate the average balance for each 1098 over the entire year. It is NOT the number given by each partial year finance company. The average loan amount needs to be averaged over the entire 121 month period for each loan. So, if one lender held the mortgage for 6 months, half of the average balance should be entered. And, the same for the successor lender's 1098. Your suggested entry is for the entire loan amount, and if entered DOUBLES the average indebteness, and in my case caused an interest deductibility limitation........unjustifiably so.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

E-File Problems
on February 18, 2026
Posted by: DER1
from St. Paul, MN
I had been pleased with HRB software until doing my 2025 returns. Federal E-Filed OK. But ran into problems with MN state return.
First: A CATCH 22! On the federal background information worksheet, section 1, C/O information. The federal return REQUIRES and entry here. My MN return WILL NOT PERMIT an entry here. I was able to work around this and clear this state E-File barrier. Second: Deceased spouse. My spouse passed away in 2025. Because of this I cannot E-File my MN state return. Really???
Pros: Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
Cons: Hard to prepare

Pensions not taxed by Hawaii
on February 18, 2026
Posted by: Kona 5
from Honolulu, HI
In the Hawaii tax returns, line 13 should automatically included when you input the pension amount from the federal tax 5b worksheet when ever both are shown as retired for their occupations. Net is zero for Hawaii tax purposes when the form is calculated.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming
