Horrible software.

This was the most troublesome tax filing ever. What happened to the seemless transfer of data from Federal, to State, to School District returns. You guys have a real problem with your software this year.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

NEED BETTER UPDATES

I have been using H&R Block tax software for about 10 years now and I have recommended it to friends who now use it also. But this year, I was a tad bit disappointed for the following reasons: (a) Merrill Lynch is no longer available for importing my 1099 forms, and (b) Form 8606 seems to be in error because it does not calculate the new cost basis for my traditional IRA.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

LONG TIME USER

I have used this software to file my taxes for a number of years. Each year there seems to be some data that does not readily transfer. This year it was info to a work sheet from my 1099-B. This mistaken info popped up to verify. had to go thru 17 verifications twice to clear. Otherwise, data transferred OK. I also suggest tabbing thru each place of entry rather than skipping to the NEXT button to avoid the software filling in bogus data that you have to go back and fix.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents

Still disappointing!

Many years ago I tried H&R's program and was disappointed. I am a long time TTx user, and decided to try H&R again since TTx now requires W11, and I don't want to upgrade. Moving to Linux. So I was looking forward to a better experience than the last time.
It is better - but still has problems, including errors in the Louisiana return calculations, particularly in the estimated taxes for 2026. Federal taxes have not been deductible from Louisiana income since 1/1/25. I also found it exceedingly difficult to print only the pages I wanted, and not the entire return, and navigation to pages can be difficult. For example, it took me a very long time to get back to the tax payment section. There is no reference back in the Louisiana calculations. I did get an agent and passed these problems along. Perhaps the next update will find them corrected.

Confusing screens for health care and HSA 's. Otherwise step by step filing instructions are easy to follow.
