Excellent software

Excellent software. No issues except when I filed on Monday at 6 pm, I got my confirming E mail on Wednesday at 6:45 pm. Same with the IRS accepting my return. They accepted my return on Monday and I got an e mail at 6:45 pm on Wednesday. In all the past years, I would get an e mail one minute after I filed it and one minute after the IRS accepted my return. Your e mail is behind.

Straight forward and easy to do on my Laptop. I don't like On-Line or using a personal device (Cell Phone).

Very godd but there's room for improvement.

My overall experience was very good. The only improvement would be to simplify the RMD area of the return. If you took out more than the required RMD, the questions regarding excesses within the correction window time frame were confusing to me. I had to use AI and trial and error to make sure I did not end up incurring a tax penalty.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
Cons: Time consuming

Having a problem with filling out Form 8853. My wife has a LTC but does not have an MSA. I do not have either an MSA or LTC. Do I need To fill out Section A and B even though we don't have an MSA?
Error says: You have indicated a policy for LTC but you have not entered any LTC or Death benefits received. On Section C I have entered LTC benefits received. How do I correct this?

Great Software

We have been using H&R Block Deluxe software for 30+ years. It has been a great help in doing my taxes. It is easy to do, and I will be purchasing it again for my 2026 taxes.
Pros: Easy to prepare

fell apart this year

Historically pretty ok. Buggy this year. Kept shutting down while trying to import stuff from fidelity. In the end had to manually enter all my w-2, financial info. If its a repeat next year, would likely switch tax software

Doesn’t require Windoze 11

I’ve been a TurboTax user for many years, but the 2025 version requires Win11. Not wanting to spend for the required hardware changes, I thought HR Block would be a solution. It does work, but the user interface isn’t as well thought out. Also, the local city income tax I needed to file was not included, necessitating filing manually with a confusing form.
I would recommend this to a friend!
