I used to work for H & Block for 20 years in office, retired in 2020, and have used the software since then for 5 yrs, and I love how easy it is to use, I love using it and recommend it to anyone doing their taxes online.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have done this software for 5 years and this year it is horrible . Seems way harder to get through the forms. When I went to save it, I could not find it. AI was not that helpful other than other years . I filed it and now I can't find my completed tax to see it it was accepted. I will try something else next time as this was not good!
Pros: Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Have been using this for years and do love the how easy it is to use. Only wish that the software would realize when someone is not required to file federal so I don't have to go through all the e-file and print of federal.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

Clunky Interface and Underwhelming AI

The interface feels unintuitive. It took me a while to realize that the “Reports” tab in the top menu contained the useful summaries I needed. When I opted to pay quarterly estimated state taxes, the software printed the vouchers but didn’t include instructions on where to send them. It’s easy enough to look up online, but it seems like something the software should provide directly.
The built‑in AI isn’t terrible, but it’s basic and not well integrated. It wasn’t obvious where to find it at first, and once I did, the answers were only mildly helpful and very limited. Using ChatGPT or Gemini in a separate browser window would have been more effective. If the AI were actually connected to your data and able to guide you through your specific situation, it would be a huge improvement.

Was not helpful with retirement annuity payment, directed to IRS website with regulation that reads like Chinese stereo instructions. Difficult to be sure if correct information was entered.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

Prior yearinfo carryover

Overall, this product works very well. My concerns are more convenience than function. More prior year info needs to be carried over to the current year: Taxpayer ID (driver's license info) and bank info for direct deposit of refund, specifically.

QUESTIONABLE SOFTWARE THIS YEAR

The software seem to be working fine again this year except it blowup when trying to execute the check for UPDATE routine. I have not been able to get that routine to work even after removing the software from my system and doing a reinstall.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
