The server issues on tax filing day this year are unacceptable. I've used this software for years and this will be the last.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

1) After initial installation we immediately get the up-sell to premium version. The up-sell says "one free state included". It turns out this DOESN'T include the e-file. That's no different what you already get with the Deluxe version. Incredibly dishonest and deceptive. 2) Instructions for each step are useless -- they are simply copies of the IRS instructions. That isn't the least bit helpful.

I switched over from turob tax about 5 years ago as i got tired of the bsit and switch tactics they use multiple times during software usage. You guys only do it once and thats much better. My only complaint is that I could not do a cut and paste from my 1099-R pdf forms to your software.
Paid for deluxe with state, form for electric car rebate very late for federal (3/22) and not included in state return. Had to do state return manually & get form off internet.

Worst service (lack of service) during the most critical last 48 hours of need. It is unimaginable to have your servers down during the most critical time of need....and not be able to transmit. THIS WILL CAUSE ME TO RETHINK TURBO TAX for next year. I never had this problem in my decades with Turbo Tax. To think that H&R Block wasn't prepared 2 years in a row is INEXCUSABLE! Lack of preparedness and spending to be prepared. If your operational rate is 98-99%, that's not good enough if it's down during the 1-2% of the time when I need it! CATESTROPIC FAILURE!

Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare

I've been using H&R Block Federal and State software to do my taxes for many years now. The step-by-step instructions couldn't be easier I will continue using it for my taxes year after year.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have been using H&R Block tax software for more than 5 years. I open the software, input the tax forms, go through the prompts, and boom - done! I plan to use it again next year.
