Expensive when you have to pay to submit state.

It says Federal AND state but you have to pay state submission even if it is done with your program. Electronic filing to our state is free using the state program. IRA info could be a lot better.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The H&R Block Deluxe software is the minimum level for filers who have interest income. Deluxe (without state) software is good for filers who are able to file their state return directly with their home state for free. -----
• H&R Block software in general has been accurate for the past five seasons I've used it; in different versions depending on my needs for the given year.
• The instructions are clear, though the filer has to decide on declining or accepting periodic upsell prompts. Installation and updates might be easier with the H&R Block software whitelisted in one's VPN and antivirus software.
• It is easy to use and may be completed pretty quickly if one's paperwork is prepared and accurate. The only document import option I've used is the prior year return which simplifies some entries.
• It's a reasonable value because it's reliable and new versions may be purchased at a discount from Thanksgiving through Christmas.

I have been using Taxcut/H&R Block software to do my own taxes for decades. I am confident that I am minimizing mistakes and efficiently getting the hated annual tax task complete. That said, particularly this year, I have found that the wording of interview questions were confusing for some topics, e.g., HSA. I plan to try TurboTax next year to see if they pose the questions more clearly
