I have always used the Federal only software and decided to spend extra for the state software. Very disappointed to learn there was an additional charge to file the state after paying extra for the state software. Did not find the state software user friendly nor very beneficial to use. Ended up using our state website and it was easier and resulted in a larger refund.
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this early in the year. I finished my taxes but the program wouldn’t allow me to submit them because a form in the program wasn’t updated. I texted my concerns but no one responded. Form was updated a few weeks before deadline but I don’t trust it anymore.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents

One return I did was easy but another return attempted with HR Block could not be timely completed since the FEDERAL EV form was not available until very late. This caused a large refund to be several months late and cost me the use of those funds. I had to use another tax service to do my return even though I paid for HR Block. I have used HR Block for many years. It is much cheaper than TurboTax but just as good. However , this year I was disappointed.
