I have been using this program to do family returns for years. This year I had a problem and realized that when you call for help - IF you can finally get to a person you are then told that you will get a call back within 5 days. I needed help then and there while I was in the middle of the problem - not 5 days later after I have put everything away. The CON would be lack of support when needed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Work very well, I manually entered data. Sent 1 to IRS and 1 to MI IRS. Not All needs forms popup and had to dig for them. Had to use 2022 forms to make sure I he'd all the forms and numbers.

While I like being able to do it myself and they do make it easy, I worry that I'm missing out on deductions - and since I owe a lot, this is a big deal. I wish there could be a service so you could get a professional to review it and tell you if there's anything you're missing.

I have used H& R Block software since it was Kiplinger Tax Cut. For my 2023 taxes, I waited from early February through March 22 for the repeatedly-promised functional, fileable federal EV tax credit form. Finally I gave up, bought TurboTax on March 22, filled out the forms, and filed my taxes on March 23 without a hitch. (According to TurboTax users, TurboTax had functional clean energy tax credit forms by mid-February.)
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
