I bought the software shortly after new year and expected to wait a bit for the updates to become available for the latest forms. By early February I thought everything was complete but discovered the software had no way to get the electric vehicle credit. My call to the help line was pretty useless.....the rep had no idea what I was talking about . A thorough on line search revealed that the was going to be another update in late Feb or early March to address this problem. When I returned from Florida in late March there was, indeed, another update waiting and after installing it the EV credit worked fine. Just anoying to have to wait so long for that update.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

I've been using H&R Block Deluxe for years and have loved it. However, this year, the state form was rejected. When I called the tax board, they could see no reason why. Was it the program error or a state tax board error? I don't know. I just know it didn't work for me this year and filing by mail is very inefficient, especially when the sate owes me money.
Pros: Easy to prepare
I would recommend this to a friend!

Tax software is great BUT your software wouldn’t connect to the internet (while it was connected to it) telling me I had to disable my proxy server which I don’t have, I emailed the file to a friend with your software and he was able to send it to irs and state. It was VERY ANNOYING.

I like that I can import my data. I like that I can use it both on my Mac and doss computers. I like that there are example questions with common answers. I do the taxes for my family. I was able to take my stored tax history for my dad and son and send it to them. They wanted to see if they could do their own taxes.
