I've been using H&R block software for close to 10 years now. Used it when we had a home office and needed a schedule C, a Trust, and any other variations. The programs accommodated all our reporting needs over time. Installation was easy as was the interview process for completing all the forms.

I've used the H&R Block program for at least 10 years. It makes entries easy by importing the last years data and allowing you to change the entries as needed. If you have all your documents gathered together, one can easily complete both the federal and state income tax requirements in 1-2 hours. The final review highlights potential errors or audit flags, very useful. I was audited by NY State for 2020 regarding charitable deductions and the program aided me in my successful challenge.

I have been using this software for several years and find it generally easy to use and a good program. I use a mac and am disappointed that the HR Block business program is not able to be downloaded on my mac.

Software was ok. Online filing did not work from night of 14th through the 15th. Attempted submissions probably 6-8 times, eventually and had to rush around to snail mail an extension for legal filing protection before postal pickup ended. Not happy about this.
Cons: Hard to prepare

No communication to user community about the cause, expected duration, or resolution of the outage.
No corrective measures taken to update return status.
This year’s filing was a major disappointment.
As a long time user, I’ll be using a different product next year.
