I have been using HRBlock tax filing software since 2013. This year was the first time, I had a very bad experience efiling my tax returns using the HR Block s/w. Every time I tried to file the return, it came with the cryptic "efile Bad Gateway" error message. It kept suggesting that the problem was with my internet connection or with my internet provider. There were no explanations or status messages on the HRBlock website and there was no online help available. Since this happened on the last filing date (April 16), I did not have the option of printing and submitting the return using the postal service. After multiple tries, and still getting the error message, suddenly I got a message in my mailbox saying IRS had accepted my return, even though the software on my desktop kept showing the filing status as "Not filed". Overall, the experience was nerve racking and left me frustrated and in a limbo until two days later, when I saw that IRS had withdrawn funds from my bank account for the amount I owed IRS. What a mess!

I have used TaxCut/etc. for many years, and have always been satisfied -- until now. Having your servers go down on April 14/15 is just not acceptable for a tax company. I ended up printing out my returns in early afternoon on the 15th, and decided to try to file electronically one more time before I went to the post office. I was lucky enough that it worked, but you wasted a bunch of my time and added quite a bit of stress. My rating would have been 4/5 stars if the filing had worked the way it was supposed to.

hi. I bought and used the software... when I hit "send" I got the "Bad Gateway" message. I eventually hit "send" 11 times over night and next day. NOW... there are 11 separate filing fee charges on my bank account. This whole event was not trouble-free and has and continues to be very stressful. Bad FORM! You're adjusting the charges to my account?

Required .pdf software would not install and locked computer up. As a result, I had to print out my State return and mail it the day after tax deadline. Not happy about that.
