I have been using this software for years and it does a great job. However, I was caught off guard when I tried to electronically file my return and received error messages that I could not connect with server. This continued to happen over multiple attempts to electronically file. I researched online and found this was happening to other users. Finally, after continuing tries (over hours and the next day) the software finally made connection and the file went through.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great software. Convenient filing and saving returns. Convenient import of last years data. Unnecessary outage of desktop software version on tax day. Please fix that going forward
One part of the questionnaire on rentals and royalties was quite confusing. I had to go back to it multiple times. Needs to be much clearer. Also, it took about 10 tries to efile before my return went through. I understand that I filed the last day, but I had no choice due to other financial circumstances. However, your system should be able to handle the rush, otherwise, what's the point. I was disappointed this year. Next year I will likely go back and try Turbo Tax again.

H&R software has been my go-to for many years. I've seen steady improvement in the usability and functionality. Definitely simplifies the tax doing and I don't worry about errors. I found the user interface for RSU's confusing this year. I sold some RSU's, but the RSU data entry didn't lead to the completion of the capital gain/loss section. It was basically a dead end. In the same menu list, it was better to skip the RSU selection and go straight to the sold stock selection (having the RSU selection was of zero value). Also, I would like to see H&R increase the usability of the imports. Very few imports work or are worth the time it takes to create the import.
I liked the flexibility when using the H&R program. Started a tax return, took a break and picked up where I left off. Also, I ran two programs to find the best way to file.
Software was mostly ok. Federal was fine but federal e-file was down for last 2 days to file, luckily it worked that afternoon but was stressful. Did not tell me until last minute when I tried to e-file that my kid who had worked and was under 16 needs to file via paper. Why would this not be made clear before I try to file? You know how old they are when I start the return. State portion was not impressive as it left out getting substantial refund for my kid was eligible for.

I’ve used H&R Block a lot over the years and I was especially disappointed this year. It doesn’t do some very basic things (like calculating average mortgage balance). It’s also pretty lame it charges extra for the state filing. For this much money and effort, I’m just going to go with a CPA next year.
