1, a final form needed wasn't available till tax day, 2, when it was available it had errors when trying to complete. 3 contacting support hold times were over 2 hours and I had to drop and never got assistance. 4, when I tried to submit the first time errors came up. 5, in trouble shooting it the state package disappeared and the software tried to charge me again for it to reinstall state. Ive used this software since 2000, and the problems I run into are becoming worse. Used to be great. Not any more.

Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

Unfortunately the 2024 April 14th and 15th outage significantly impacted me so it's very difficult to have a positive review

I was disappointed that I experienced issues submitting my returns the day before they were due. I thought the issue was on my end and kept trying things. Eventually I gave up and then tried the next morning (tax day). I still received errors but later on received an email that my taxes were sent and another that they were accepted. In the end it all worked out but I feel like there should be a way to notify customers of the issues.
I've used the software for several years in a row. Although some additional details on certain sections would be helpful. Overall, it's a positive experience. I do feel that the cost has continued to increase though so I would like to see that even out moving forward.
I’ve been using H&R Block’s tax software for years and am overall pleased with the product. My spouse and have filed jointly for 30 years. This year I switched the order of our W-2s and we got a refund. Similar tax situation last year and we owed. Not sure why the order of the W-2s would make a difference but it did. The program should be intuitive enough to provide guidance in these situations. More guidance on filing state returns would be helpful, especially when you need to file returns in multiple states. Example is living in one state and working in a different state.
I can't even begin to tell you how down hill this product and business has gone. I struggled to get through our basic taxes. Found errors from previous returns and was fined from using the same software. Then when trying to pay my taxes the software wouldn't connect to send our returns for over 24 hours dinging my credit card 4x because of the error. I'm still waiting for all these extra charges to fall off. I highly do not recommend.

E file error on 4/15, first solution, print and mail return. No follow up to error messages. I didn't know for sure whether IRS received and accepted return for days after 15th.
Pros: Easy to prepare
