We have been using H&R Block for several years now. Normally we submit our taxes early however this year we owed and needed to wait to file. When we were ready to file the e-file option did not work. We have had charges pending on our checking account for days now and we did not get to e-file. After multiple attempts to file and hours of waiting for a resolution I gave up. I went and bought a printer, came home and printed everything out, and then waited forever at the post office to mail out our taxes. Using this software cost me more money than necessary and made me waste my day. We will be looking into different tax software for next year.
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The preparation work was fine, but the inability to file between Sunday night and Monday afternoon was not okay. Two stars instead of zero because it did submit Monday afternoon about 30 mins before I gave up and printed it off to mail in.

Nationwide outage on tax day was a huge blunder. Tried to submit my return literally for hours but ultimately had to print a hard copy. Wasted hours of my life. Tax software itself was fine. Have a big question if I will use it again.

It's good. Hoping for an expanded interview for K-3. This came out as an expansion to K-1 a couple of years ago. Also, for choosing to flow income for "when earned". The "whole form" is overwhelming as it seems to become 4 more whole tax returns.
I’ve used the HRB Deluxe package for many years! I’ve some experience years ago auditing state tax returns and recognized right away how thorough this program is. It has assisted me in filing taxes in a way that means I lose no sleep wondering if I caught up on the law changes or anything else. All the hard stuff is done for me and all the right questions asked to ensure an accurate filing. Thank you!
Tried to file on weekend of 4/13. Their system was down. I tried repeatedly. Racked up dozens of filing charges on my credit card. System came up barely in time to file before 4/15 deadline.

Good Software, but Their Updates Broke the E-Filin

Overall, I love the H&R Block tax software. But when I went to file my taxes online on April 15, I am guessing that the update they pushed out earlier that day "broke" the ability for H&R Block to accept an e-filing. So I had to spend more money to mail a copy of my taxes to the IRS, just to get home later that night and the software suddenly worked again. Rather disappointing.
Pros: Easy to prepare

The outage on tax day has this long long time customer saying goodbye. Zero communication anywhere about the issue forced me to do my taxes by hand in order to get them in on time. The hours I spent trying to figure out what “bad gateway” meant and then finding out it was on your end and you knew about it starting on the 14th and didn’t get it fixed until late on the 15th is unacceptable. No communication on your end.
