I submitted my efile when your servers were having problems. I have received one acceptance and two rejections of my efile since that happened with no communication on from you about the outage, nor any reassurance that my efile was submitted successfully.
During the process of filing my return I encountered two separate crashes on the desktop application. Not to mention the UI is outdated and occasionally difficult to navigate.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We have used this product for many years. The ease of preparing our tax return and then being able to e-file has made doing our taxes so much easier. But THIS YEAR… Ugh! We were delayed getting our taxes done because we knew we owed money and doing the college education section was a bit confusing. Then we went to e-file and your server was down. At first, I was made to think it was something I had done during the preparation. But my husband is a software developer and knew it was your server. So after many times of waiting and trying to e-file, my husband had to take time off of work to print our tax forms, drive to my job (30 minutes drive one way) to have me sign our taxes and then he had to go stand in line at the post office. We then found out that by the time I got home from work that things were supposedly working again. This was a hard day for us. We felt like we were being deceived as we were told check back in the morning, or an hour, or after 11:00 am, or just go ahead and print and mail. When I asked about a refund, I was told that it is a tax preparation software and we wouldn’t get a refund. But you offer free e-file with your tax software so you did not complete what I paid for. I still want a refund. We are MAJORLY DISAPPOINTED WITH H&R BLOCK AND WILL NOT BE USING YOUR PRODUCT AGAIN!!!

I have been using H&R for almost 10 years now and this year there was just issues after issues. First it was with finalizing forms for EV tax credit and then it was with a stupid limit of max 3 forms for e-filing for 8938 introduced this year in the s/w forcing me to paper file. And all of this even after reimporting last years returns and having spend 4-5 hours finalizing everything and you give a stupid limit message at the very end. Wow ! Who developed this years edition ?
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents

We completed our taxes but the system was down on 4/14&4/15 so we had to buy and use TurboTax. I waited on the phone for more than 2 hours to speak to someone because there was no communication about the problem.

I have been using the Deluxe+State package for eleven years and will likely continue to do so. Easy to set up and use, imports all my data with ease and accuracy and prompts me for any omissions or errors. I can't believe I used to do my taxes manually prior to this - what was once a lengthy and dreaded process is now a quick and easy task.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

Had a couple issues with this year's software. 1. Was getting a notification that my Medicare taxed withheld was higher then normal. Checked with my employer and there is no issue as it is a set percentage. 2. When e filing, it never gave me a notice that it was received by the IRS. Sometimes it was not responding but did receive an email from h&r that it was accepted.
