I've been using HR Plock software for the past ten years and it's never failed to provide good accurate results. Very easy to use, even for somewhat more complex filings. The cost is very reasonable and is a very good value.

The program is very easy to navigate through, even considering I changed our filing status this year. I am not sure if it was actually maximum refund possible, but we no longer have a lot of deductions to carry now that we are 60 years old.

For more than 20 years we have used Block software to prepare taxes. Accountants don't know as much as you will when you use Block and they are not as thorough as Block.
Pros: Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents

Only issue every year is how to get to the State without having to pay again. It may be that we are downloading before the CA State software is complete, but we don't ever see how to update it. Maybe that could be smoothed. Thanks

Been using for years. Got charged twice for e-file my state! Federal return was rejected so state put on hold. Re submitted federal and went through. Only way I could figure out how to re submit state was with my cc. Charged twice! Was told in frequent asked questions that my card would only get charged once.
