I bought this product with great hope. Although it did improve my refund, I was unable to e-file my return and ended up using another company. I kept being told that it was unable to submit my return for several possible reasons which I could not resolve.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used HRB software for many years. No issues until I had to send the information to the IRS. No access for many hours. Please clear up your end of tax year bandwidth issues. Very irritating !

I've been using the Deluxe version of this program for over 10 years and it's very easy to use. I did discover a deduction that I missed the last 3 years because the interview never addressed it and I had to file amended State returns. The deduction involved premiums for long-term care insurance which is a deduction on VA State returns, as long as it isn't claimed on the Federal return.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

First off, it would be great if the software without the state was color coded very differently. I ended up purchasing both the Deluxe without state and then the Deluxe we with State after realizing that my initial purchase I had bought the wrong software. Secondly, it felt like this year the explanations were not very detailed. This made it more difficult to complete my taxes this year. Will rethink my purchase for next year.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
