As frustrating as any software can be.

I finished the Federal return. H&R Block says it cannot be submitted, then I get email saying the return has been accepted. I look for status on the program (As recommended.) but I am only told the return has not been submitted. I cannot know what the status is.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've been a user of this software for a number of years now. It's gotten better, but now that I've retired (in 2023), it needs to address the social security benefit income better. I had both work income and social security benefits in 2023, but had to read a LOT - outside of the software - before finalizing my return.
Pros: Easy to import documents

The H&R Deluxe Package was easy to download and use. My only complaint concerns the E-filing of the state return. It took me three tries and 3 fee charges before the return was accepted. I was charged 3 times immediately. I understand that two of the charges will be credited after the state return is accepted. Why does it take 3-4 days to get credited for two of the charges.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast

Kept getting bad gateway, still got an email stating it was accepted but on the program it says I printed and mailed. I don't know what to do, the wait time is at least 99 people in front of me.
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have been using this program for years and have really had no major issues. The main problem I have is with calculating the Maryland Two Earner Tax Credit. I have finally figured out how to calculate my spouses portion, but I don't understand why the program cannot do that for me. I hate going out of the State and into the Federal in order to find the information and then apply it to the State. But, like I said I finally figured out a process...
