Frustrating

I was ready to file, but I had to wait through one update after another. Then finally the final update came. I don't know how many times I had to click on update while nothing happened. Then after it actually updated, I tried to file but got rejected by the IRS for incorrect pin. Your program said to choose any 5-digit number. But it didn't match the 6-digit IRS pin. Instructions for fixing it were unclear. FRUSTRATING! I won't buy Block again!
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

WHERE ARE THE TAX SUMMARY REPORTS??

1. This program should provide a tax summary that compares details to (at least) the previous two tax years! 2. This program should provide a summary that list the Capital Loss Carryover into the NEXT tax year - 2024 in this case. TaxAct always provided these but got too expensive so I switched to BLOCK. These Summary Reports should be easy to provide and would be a great benefit!
Pros: Easy to import documents

First time using, and I found it fairly easy

I have filed with Turbo tax before, and decided to try H&R Block Deluxe this year.
Found it easy enough to use, I wanted to be able to enter forms such as 1099-div
manually and the program let me do that.
I like the final review that checked everything was entered correctly.

My Go-To Tax Software

I cannot remember how many years I’ve used H&R to prepare my taxes. I don’t even consider using another software provider. Tonight it took me only 30 minutes to prepare my Federal and State returns. Within minutes my Federal return was accepted by the IRS.
Pros: Easy to prepare

Happily surprised....

As a guy in his 70's who has never done his own taxes, I was anxious about the decision to try this software. I'm happy to report that the H&R 2023 Deluxe state and federal product is so well-designed, thorough and intuitive that the process went smoothly. I especially love the new feature allowing you to photograph certain documents and automatically upload its contents. Another time-saving feature allows you to download tax documents from brokerage and retirement accounts.
I would recommend this to a friend!

used for many years - never an audit.

We have used this product for many years - 18 for sure. Always good luck but this year we had an investment large and our bank's 1099 said box 5 needed to be checked. Your guided form did not provide box 5 so we went to main form and entered the X on box 5. Your prior to file routine flagged it as a possible error but let us proceed if we chose. Tried to get help and discovered your Chat or phone help lacking.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents

There is a glitch in the software that puts an incorrect reason on the Attachments Worksheet -(submitted with the return) - when an entry is put in the Other Income box. This is Other Income not included elsewhere in the return. The entry says Incorrect 1099-K. After multiple conversations with support and several software updates - no resolution. So I filed with the incorrect entry. Not happy at all.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
