Fast and easy

I've used this software for several years and only once did I have a small problem which was solved,
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Still can't file state!

Horrible! Took over two weeks to download the required Federal update, and still can't get the state update to open. I'll be using a different tax service next year!
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A little disappointed

The software for the Federal Income Tax seemed a little more difficult to use this year. The choice to take the standard deduction was practically made by the program by indicating that it is recommended because at that point there was shown to be far greater than what had been compiled from deductions for charitable contributions. The program at that point didnt have my medical expenses considered and I couldn’t get into the form to include them. I e-filed my return and was to get a $291 refund. IRS accepted my return.
The following day I was increasingly dissatisfied with the fact that I didn’t include substantial medical expenses in the return I had filed. I chose to do an amended return and forced the inclusion of my medical expenses. The amended return was highly confusing and difficult to understand what was being asked. Early on in the process the program instructed me to print the amended return and mark it on top with the word “original” because I would need it later in the process. It showed a new refund value of $326, an increase of $35 over what the original return I filed showed. This was logical.
Continuing with the process of completing the amended return, I finally came to the e-file screen. I sent it to the IRS and it was accepted. After printing a copy for myself, I noticed that line 22 said the refund from the amended return was to be $35. That was alarming and I called H&R Block and was finally told that I would be getting a refund if $291 plus $35, bringing the total refund to $326.
The program could have and certainly should have made that very clear, and because the directions for the amended return were so vague with little explanation of how the form works, I was unable to rate it five star. Although it suffered compared to previous years, I will continue with H&R Block and recommend it to a friend with some reservations.
Also any changes to the Income Tax regulations should be addressed prior to any data entry.
You can’t even post a review because it asks for a nickname, which is absurd!! And every entry I make isn’t accepted because it says that it has already been used. RIDICULOUS!!!!!

Pretty good, two areas I struggled with.

The product worked well. There were two areas that took me quite a while to figure out. First, it took me several times to correctly enter income received on a 1099-Misc, so that the income wasn't listed twice on my 1040. Second, it took me several times to get an inherited IRA distribution to appear as taxable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

program isn't working right

A couple of things aren't working right in the audit verify it brought up things I don't need for my taxes I'm retired don't have any right offs or deductions just simple tax, it wanted me to itemize I don't have anything to itemize. The code for free Fed e files didn't work so I had to call you guys what gives? Twice first time got hung up on.
Cons: Time consuming

A great switch from TurboTax.

After using TurboTax for the last 10 yrs I found this to be as good as and better in some areas . Decided to try it out and glad I did! The only downside was having to pay extra for the state return.
Pros: Easy to prepare
