Worked perfectly

My return included investments and retirement income as well as standard W-2s. It was easy to use and I completed my taxes in about 2 hours. I really like how it error checks and makes you fix mistakes that IRS would reject. Very helpful. I had mistakes to correct. I've used H&R for 3 years, after turbo tax became so expensive and I switched. This is as good or better for less money. FYI, my system is Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit and even though its no longer supported, it still works.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

I purchased this Deluxe 2022 software in December 2022 and I am a multiple decade user of your product. I highly recommend it to those wanting to personally prepare their income taxes.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

I've been using H&R Deluxe tax-preparation software for 20 years and now get an e-mail prompt every year to order it again. Since I've retained the previous year's version on my computer, the software uses that data to prefill many of the blanks, so that I can either accept last year's data (my name didn't change) or it serves as a clue for me to come up with this year's value. This was very helpful when I had multiple bank accounts, and might forget a 'minor one'. Before I had this software, I painstakingly used the IRS paper forms and instructions from the public library so now I appreciate how easy H&R Block makes it for me and the IRS employees who receive a nice professionally printed tax packet from me. My only complaint and a small one is the software rounds every amount to the nearest dollar and sometimes for example I have sold a fractional share of stock and it ends up looking like the 'proceeds' are '0' and the 'basis' is '0', which appears suspicious, but obviously not material enough get me audited. Other than that, highly recommended.

Worst filing experience of my life

This was my worst experience filing taxes that I’ve ever had. I needed a second state and purchased the download. It was no where to be found and I followed all of their troubleshooting. I sat on the phone for 1.5 hours waiting to speak to someone and finally gave up and had to repurchase the state download which finally worked. It then wouldn’t let me e-file the second state and I had to mail it in instead. FIX YOUR SOFTWARE and hire some customer service.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Rejected return!!!

A typo occurred in my SSN and my Fed return was rejected. I went to Personal Info and corrected the entry, saved and filed again. Rejected AGAIN! Opened return and found that my change didn't "take." Changed again, saved, closed, opened... didn't take?! It was only when I went to "show form" and made the change there that it "took." Opened and closed return 3-4 times to make sure. Submitted again, accepted. I've used H&R software for decades but my confidence in it is terminally damaged.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Your Missouri State Tax software didn't allow me to efile because of a underpayment penalty. So I had to file by paper. Pretty rudimentary and it would appear to be a common occurrence. You advertise 5 free federal filing and I was only allowed one. Also what's up with having an update scheduled for the 20th of April 2 days after filing. I have been using your software for almost 20 years and am now looking at other packages
