Cheaper than the leading competitor and workable. 3rd party PDF utility, required for electronic filing of state return, is an irritation and may lead me to return to that competitor next year. That probably will depend on the price differential.
I've been using for many years, never had a problem. It was always easy to install and update either on PC or Mac - I have switched to Mac since 2010, it was never a problem
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

Wouldn’t download

When I bought the program it wouldn’t download. I did not get any email to download from. I checked my credit card account to be sure the transaction was completed. I was billed for the purchase. I called the help service and the person I talked to was very nice and did her best to correct the error. It took about an hour for her to fix the glitch and send the email to download the program. I have been using H&R Block for 9 years and really like the program. It is easy to follow and about as fast as a tax return program can be. I willl keep using H&R Block but I hope I don’t have the problem downloading in the future.
The program works fine. I've used it multiple years and it reloads the prior year pertinent information. Handles K-1's that Turbo Tax always had difficulty completing all the data correctly.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
This year's version was the buggiest I've ever experienced, and I've been using HRB and it's predecessor, TaxCut, for twenty years.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
Cons: Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy to Use...If it's not your first time!

I've used this product for several years. There are a few places you'll do some head-scratching but it's pretty easy overall. The first time it was NOT easy. A lot of oddities crop up. It helps to know you can look at the worksheets and pages from the government form if you need to. Also, having to check EVERY transaction in your broker statement is silly. I only know what the Broker's report tells me. Electronic filing was difficult the first time but is easier with practice. My State requires a large fee to file electronically but you won't learn that until the end so you have to back up and elect to mail it in.
