I found the 2022 Tax Year version of the software somewhat more difficult to use than prior versions. Messages were a bit cryptic for the average (non-financial) user and I didn't feel completely confident that I had done the whole process correctly. I'm not sure what is different, but I'm not sure I would use this software again.
Have used H&R Block software for several years with great results. This year something was off. Normally the program follows topics in the order that they appear on the required forms. Several times a topic would be missed completely and I had to search through the form to locate places where input was required . I did the best I could do and passed the screenings at the end. However I paid 2,000 dollars in taxes this year with minimal increase in income. So I'm trusting the software comes thru for me this year.

Please add an auto save feature to your software. I was an hour into preparing my return and I clicked on an info icon to get more help on a topic and it was the kiss of death. The program crashed, disappeared from the screen, and did not save one inkling of my work. It’s bad enough that I have to pay for something to file my taxes, not just in software to aid my completion but then to file with the state, a legal requirement that should therefore not cost anything, but unreliable software that can’t keep record of my work is a no-go for me.
This makes it so easy to do taxes - they ask the questions, you provide the answers from your knowledge of yourself and from official forms you have received, they put the numbers in the right forms and do all the math. Every year they have updated for new laws and rules and forms, for both Federal and my state even (which is a little one with weird rules). I don't have to keep up with the changes. They make it SO easy. I can print for my records, but do e-filing, and get email notice when the returns are accepted (less than a day this year!). And refunds come direct to my bank quickly, too. (They should have left the product name as TaxCut a few years back, as better advertising and competition with the "other one", but companies like their names on things, I know.)
