I've been using H&R Block Software to do my taxes for at least 5-6 years. It's easy to use and even more easy the 2nd year you use it because it picks up the information from the previous year's return that is required in the current year. Everything was pretty straight forward.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

I bought this for Federal and State. Many software crashes, hours of being on hold and then getting dropped. When I did get through they had no idea how to help.

It mirrors the irs sheets but when doing out taxes we need a little more explanation of some entities. Luckily I went over my taxes 3 times.

I have used H&RBlock software or its predecessors (Taxcut 1040) for the last thirty or so years. I only used professional tax support a couple of times during that period, and that was to handle LLC reporting and some complex estate reporting issues. This year's software made me aware of a tax credit from replacing my HVAC equipment. An unexpected surprise.

This software is quick and easy as it walks me through each step of the IRS return process. It includes easy updates and is transparent in filling in my State return.

Not as easy as they say only because when you have a stock portfolio and you enter the document number and ID number all your documents are uploaded and that should take care of all required info they would need not the case I had to have tax guy take over.
