Avg Tax Program No State Form Updates Less Cost

Years of the same program. It is consistent, but they never upgrade the available state forms for AZ. They should at least MATCH what competitors are using. Because they do not update, I cannot file electronically and I have to download my own forms. I'm assuming because they don't change much, the program can be found much cheaper that other programs which is the only reason I keep using it. For the past 3 years I have been wanting to switch, but keep coming back.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Hard to prepare

I really like the this software best for the Federal tax return. However, I found doing the Virginia state return was convoluted. I discovered that the only way to enter direct deposit information was to say I would eFile. But since there was a charge to eFile the state return, I didn't want to do that. So I had to say eFile and then enter bank information and then go back and say print and mail.

I do have one request on the software. That would be how actual Federal Taxes are calculated. That would include the tax amounts Qualified Dividends, Long and Short term Capital Gains, etc.
If I can calculated my detailed tax rates in excel, I'm sure one of your programmers could also do the same.

H&R Block software is easy to use and I have confidence that it is gettingthe best solution available. Just walk through the software . My only complaint is that I am buying a set os state software with this but it does not include a filing for it and then since I need to file in 2 states I have to purchase a second set of state software for a high price and iot doesn't include the filing fee either. Those cost are minimal to the company but I feel like I am being Gouge because they know I don't have any other option .
