Clunky, felt like a 1990s computer software with the look and feel. Past online version were far more user friendly - I found this more confusing to use compared to previous years. I don't like that you have to commitment to a package and can't upgrade as you are completing your return, feels predatory, as a way to make people purchase twice who don't understand what they need.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The H&R Block federal program is fine and I would recommend it. But the state program (Arizona in my case) has for years lacked important and commonly used forms so that it is impossible to file the state return electronically. This year it was only one missing form (it has been several missing forms in years past), but it means users have to locate the applicable state forms on the internet, fill them out, print them out and then mail in the state return.
Also, the filing instructions that print out from the program erroneously instructed me to locate a particular form despite the fact that I discovered (after the fact) that the program had already printed out that particular form. A small error, but just another annoyance with this program.
Pros: Easy to prepare
I would recommend this to a friend!

Do not use H&R Block if you need to file form 8938

My return was rejected by the IRS. I noticed that the wrong tax year was showing on my printout of form 8938 even though the correct tax year shows when I am entering the information in the software. Downloaded the update that came out a few days later - did not fix the problem! Ended up paying twice to file my taxes because I switched to TurboTax!
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Been using this software for over 30 years. Easy to use on my home computer. I always get the CD for backup. Has always been a little cheaper than the other. Imports last year information save time for the current tax year. Looking forward to using it again next year (2023).
