I have been using H&R Block software for several years and love it! It picks up last years information and auto fills the appropriate areas. Easy to edit and once filed keeps you up to date on the current status of your filing.

I have used the federal and state (MN) editions fro several years and find it very straightforward. My returns aren't complicated but I sometimes itemize deductions. If a topic isn't clear to me I can generally use the H&R Block software to get answers or point me to the correct IRS instructions. However for most items I am able to complete my forms without having to resort to this.

I've used H & R Block tax software since 2017. That's seven years!
Like I said - easy and convenient. I especially like that my prior year's information is automatically established, and that my brokerage transactions are imported. What a time and typing saver!!

Not A Great Experience

Made 1st update in FEB and was able to enter FED data and download State software. Waited for MAR 3 update to finalize. Spent an hour with Cust. Serv. after 1 week of update failures. Work around allowed FED to update, but not the State. Filed FED OK. Printed state to transfer data on state DOR website. Difference in forms required a recalc with less taxes owed. HRB MISSED THE MARK THIS YEAR.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

When I called up a help screen I could not get it to close once I was done with it. It stayed on my main screen and I could see only part of it. I called help desk but nobody knew how to remove it without logging out and starting up again. Also vehicle registration fees for state of Iowa, I could only enter fees for one vehicle.
I called help center but nobody knew the answer. Somebody was to call the next day but never did.
