I found the software easy to use. The printouts of the forms for your files are what you would submit if you were filing by mail. I would like to see the entries on the forms printed as dark as the forms themselves are printed. The entries are a little hard to read. There is an extra charge to file a state return electronically. Even with this extra charge the cost of the software is very reasonable. I plan to use this software again next year.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
After 20 years experience with this product, it is noted that it only gets easier to use. Some financial information can be automatically entered from the Internet. The program carries over identity and personal data entry names from the previous year so they don't have to be entered again and they serve as reminders of the current tax year data to be entered. Sending tax submissions digitally to federal and state services is fairly effortless.
I have used Block software since it was first introduced as a "freeware" called Kiplinger TaxCut. I used this software as part of the first "beta" efiling group of 10,000. This package has never failed me nor my family. I recommend Block Tax software to everyone with this admonition. If you find yourself over-you-head for your taxes, you always have a personal partner with Block. You simply take your "T-file" to a Block office for professional support. Although others may have good software, no one covers all of the bases that Block does.
I've used this software for over a decade, but recently I find that it doesn't have good answers to some tax questions. For example, "adjusted gross income" yields no results in the search bar. It is still fine for most users.
this is the second year I have not been able to electronic file my taxes because of error for "wrong AGI. " I had to mail it 2 times now. I did all I was told to do but it never worked to electronic file. I downloaded the program from my computer. Prior to that I always bought a CD from Walmart but you dont do that anymore. So I wasted alot of time filing several times and it was rejected. I even tried with Turbo tax which was also rejected. I know my AGI was correct because I checked with the IRS and got a letter in the mail from the. If you can solve this problem for next year I would appreciate it.
