I had a significant problem that took me hours to solve. I imported data from 1099-R forms for myself and my husband. Both were traditional IRAs comprising deductible contributions and had $0 basis. Both IRAs had RMDs. I made QCDs with part of my RMD. The rest of the RMD should be taxable. When I went through the software interview process, a message told me that the remainder of the distribution was taxable (as expected). However, the software automatically created Form 8606 for my distribution and calculated that I had $0 tax liability for the remainder of the distribution. I checked my entries in the interview many times, and I found no error in my entries. After hours of checking, I finally manually deleted Form 8606. This fixed the problem. The software correctly calculated tax on the non-QCD portion of my distribution. This issue reduced my confidence in H&R Block tax preparation. Not sure if I will use your software next year.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
