Capital loss carry over to state should be easier to get to. Amended state returns should be easier to get to appropriate form.

I have used H&R Block Deluxe software for over a decade. It is easy to use and the work can be done at my own pace. I can easily save what I'm doing and leave the work to obtain more documentation or information and come back at a time convenient for me.
It is very convenient to have a means to check my own thoroughness with the simple click of a key.
The digital transmission of my 1040 to the IRS is free and works flawlessly.
The method employed by H&R Block is an interview process which provides the user the opportunity to enter data quickly and easily. A far clearer means to report income than struggling with a form 1040 and not be certain that you are entering the correct amount in the correct location.

I was happy for many years but both of the last 2 years have had problems with their state program (MD). I called them twice last year and twice again this year to try and have them fix the issues. They either don't get back to you after you create a case # or they just hang up on you after talking with them for 15-30 minutes.

H&R botched its e-filing interface with the IRS

When I completed my taxes, I couldn't email because of an interface problem between H&R Block and the IRS. I waited for the update and refiled. After 10 days, my filing was rejected by the IRS because of an interface issue with H&R Block. This is pretty poor performance.
Cons: Time consuming

Generally very giod software, and easy to use. Wish that the stock group reporting was in same sequence (revenue, then cost/basis) as individual stock sales. Also, that listing of stock sales moved up as more stock sales are entered

Found an error last year. Pointed out exactly where. Still not fixed this year. Unable to file electronically this year due to “a glitch”. Filing on paper is a crappy solution. And this was sent to Daniel. My name is Wendy.
