My taxes are not terribly complicated (I am retired and not wealthy) but the IRS being just borderline competent so its helpful to have someone else to try and figure them out. You could miss something, (like a sneaky exception or credit). I am not impressed with the flow of the work - find my self frequently searching around to understand where to find something. I especially don't like surprise charges for anything - this year was a bit better than some. I will say I prefer HRB to Turdo Tax for cost. Maybe it might help to have a group of folks who usually do their taxes via one of these tax software programs do some trial runs giving feedback but maybe you have done that. I do like being able to bring last years results into auto fill some things..
We have been using the H&R Block Tax product for years. It is very thorough, easy, and quick to navigate. We completed our return in one hour. Filed our state and federal taxes which were accepted promptly. Can’t say enough for the value.
Unable to get its to accept the return until an update that came in mid March. Supposedly it should have worked with a March 2 update but that didn’t work
Incorrect completion of PA tax form when reside in PA but work in NY - should show wage tax owed for PA along with credit for tax paid in NY - it fails to do so; also, phone support staff is not very knowledgable and wait times are extermely long at time
