I have been using H&R Block tax preparation for 10+ years. I find it to be excellent software to do your own tax return. I like the ability to import data from previous year and current year. I have used it to go back and review previous years. The interview format is easy to follow and e-filing is very simple. 2021 version was not as easy to navigate as older versions when looking at forms or FAQs.
Pros: Maximizes refund, Fast
Cons: Time consuming

So so so many points where new user would be either stumped , confused, lost or guessing. I’m used to the oddities . Even then I usually call tax advisors for help 2-3 times and guess on another 2. Discount deals and multiple family use keeps me coming back for now

Federal works fine. However when doing NR with multiple states i always lose money when i pay Missouri state tax with NR Illinois credit. I always lose money each year by $200-600. It just disappears. I get a $100 refund from illinois from overpaying there but never get anything back from missouri

I have used HRBlock pkg for several years and found them to be very user friendly and complete each year...and after each submission HR gives user info in prep for next year which helps user be better prepared for the next filing.
