Our 2019 software did not carry over our itemized deductions to the State, giving us only standardized deduction. The State just notified us that we owed them money for 2019 and we had to do an amended return. We then saw your error and corrected it. We certainly need a full refund for our software that year
I have used H&R Block software for over 10 years. It has been very good for the most part and probably will continue using it except if it doesn't solve its major problem. You can not import Charles Schwab 1099 Stocks, Dividend, Capital Gains and Losses data. For traders like me this is very important feature saving hours of manual inputting. I am at the point of looking for a software that can offer this feature. Your software can do this with many other brokerages but not Charles Schwab. Fix it or I stop buying this product.
The software would plug in items that it believed were allowable. After the final check and confirmation that the return was at low risk for audit. The last three years the IRS found problems with my return and kept part of my return all three years. This cost me thousands of dollars. Somehow I avoided audit.
It really helps you organize the papers and statements you need for tax preparation. Also, having H & R Block available if you are audited also helps with your piece of mind.
Great value for the price. Does pretty much everything I need. Would recommend this software to most anyone who wants a DIY tax prep program. My only big complaint is with how Form 1116 is handled. Needs to be improved substantially to be much more user friendly.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
