This tax program does everything well except download info from investment companies, etc. If you want that as a primary feature, look for another program. This issue is important to me and I'll be looking at another program next year.

I have been using H & R Block deluxe software for many years. Simple to use. Guides me through all income and deductions step by step. It also imports 1099, W2 from financial institutions and hence less hassle to enter manually. It is excellent software.

This software makes figuring your taxes practically automatic and filing them easy. I've used it since it was called TaxCut, and see no reason to switch. The fact that it automatically loads in data from last year to get you started is a real tmesaver.

This was my first time using H&R Block's tax software. I've been a TurboTax user for almost twenty years and had no reason to change. I use Macs. I should note here that I had used the TurboTax software with both Windows and Mac operating systems and never had any issues with either one. However, the 2020 tax year changed that fact. I was unable to create or print a copy of my tax returns with TT on my Mac, and that was/is a huge problem. I tried using the software again at the start of the 2021 tax season, but the issue had not been fixed. So, upon recommendation from a friend I bought and used H&R Block's product. It essentially works similar to TT and got the job done--and, I was successfully able to print my returns. So, why the 4/5 stars? Two reasons: The UI (user interface) for the H&R Block program looks and feels a bit outdated, so the experience feels a bit less premium compared to TT. The second reason is that I had to print both the federal and the state returns as separate files. The TT software printed both the federal and state as one return, and the with a better looking and organized report. Will I use it again. Yes, because it got the job done and works well enough. If H&R Block cares enough to update their UI and print formatting aesthetics, then I'll gladly give a 5/5.

I use the HRBlock Deluxe State and Federal Tax Software. I like how it lets you install the Federal software on more than one computer, but do not like that the state software can only be installed on the computer from which it was a download-installation. I also don't like that I can't get the state software install on local media in case I need it again in the future. The reason for me wanting to install both state and federal software on more than one computer is I do some work on a laptop and the final work on our desktop which has the printer on which we print out our copies of the tax returns.
The HRBlock Consumer help line used to be very helpful say 5 or 10 years ago. In recent years for me it has been totally worthless and a complete disappointment. I'd rate that aspect of the software a "1" for the lowest rating.
