I followed the instructions to a the letter. Filed my taxes and was paitintly waiting for my tax return of +$4k. It never came, so called the IRS. They said my tax return was calculated incorrectly and that they made adjustments and now I owe them $1408 and I would be receiving a letter in the mail. About a week later the letter arrived starting that the child tax credits were at fault for the miscalculation by the software. I went back and reviewed everything again in the software and all of my entries are correct and match the tax documents that I received, but on the actual 1040 form the software filed, the numbers are different.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I was unable to renew my Tax Identity Shield. I also could not figure out how to attach a statement that was required and could not get the program to let me make a recharacterization from a Roth contribution to a non-deductible Traditional IRA contribution. It would only let me do a deductible contribution. I was however, quite satisfied with the overall experience and result.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast

Be careful, I have found several error/omissions on tax forms where the survey questions were answered correctly yet it was not handled correctly on the form(s). A number calculated correctly on one form was not used where it should have been on another form. Have used the software for 5+ years, one error has happened every year. What a disappointment.

I've used this software for years with no problem. Now each of the last 2 years the IRS has come back to me to say there was a mistake on the return and i had to pay more. I have a very straightforward uncomplicated financial situation. Not great.

Very old feeling software and wasn't even able to file online due to an error. Pretty terrible but at least it did the calculations and checked my taxes.
