HRB software does a great job explaining all fine points (if needed), and I have confidence in the calculations. I've been using it for years. One small issue that is fine once you learn it: for municipal bond funds, for example, there's a page to enter "the amount that's tax free in your state." 1099s will express that as a percent but the software wants the dollar amount, so you multiply your total dividends by the percent. At first, I entered the percent instead, and that doesn't work because the software treats the percent figure as a dollar amount. That page might state by the box - (Dollar amount).
Works OK. Have to pay extra to submit state return

Works ok. Nice job importing data from a previous return. The software does not allow you to change from filing jointly to filing separately without re-entering all the data. I'd like to compare the two options, if for no other reason just to see the difference. It seems like something that should be accomplished with a mouse click, but that's not the case. Having to pay to submit the state form seems like a slap in the face.
Ok software but when I attemped to efile my federal return, the software kept rejecting my return due to my AGI entry for the previous year not matching the previous years return.
It works and is comprehensive. And the one time I contacted customer service, he went out of his way to take care of a time consuming and unusual request.
