I like how easy it is to use H&R Block Deluxe tax software, and how it walks you through filling out your tax forms. If there is one thing I'm not entirely satisfied with, it is the lack of any explanation about some of the terms and options in the program. I'm not a financial person, and don't know all the jargon. So, there are some areas in the software where I'm not entirely sure what it is asking for or what I need to do (or if I even need to worry about it). I always manage to get through the filing process, but there is sometimes a lingering concern that maybe there was something I didn't do quite correctly. The software does its best to ensure everything is done right, but much of that is just based on my responses to the interview questions.
I’ve been using the H&R Block program to file my own returns for around 30 years or more now (started in the early 1990’s). I’ve always had good results with it and continue to us the program today to file my own taxes on time each year.
We have been using this software for years without problems. Then in 2021 (for 2020 tax year) we had to make an additional payment in September or October due to the miscalculation of COVID stimulus payments. I was told all software packages were calculating it incorrectly and it was a nightmare for the IRS. But still aggravating.
